Domaine des Baumard was establed in 1634, but it wasn't until the mid-50's that wine production became the main focus of the estate, when Jean Baumard took control. He and his son Florent have updated the Domaine and began producing wine in 1955.
The Baumard Cremant Rosé Brut NV is made from 100% Cabernet Franc (which makes this a Blanc de Noir) and is a beautiful pale pink, dry on the palette with lovely berry and currant flavors. It's a very refreshing and delicious confluence of terroir, agricultural expertise and winemaking skill.
In addition to being wonderful to drink, it is packaged beautifully. At our first tasting, there were many comments about its elegance and sophistication. We were quite pleased that the beauty of the bottle was reflected by the quality of wine in the glass.
